Ole Miss. standout, Laremy Tunsil, was affected with a $14 million hit to his pockets when his draft projection slipped Thursday when his account tweeted a video of him smoking marijuana out of a bong attached to a gas mask

Many executives and writers had the 6'5" 315 pound offensive tackle possibly slated as the overall top pick in yesterday's draft.  While such a result remained unlikely to most, the Baltimore Ravens were blessed to have their highest position in 16 years, with the sixth pick, and they had their sights set on him.  Up until the infamous hacking of his Twitter account aired him out with a video showing him getting high through a gas mask, Tunsil was their man!  Tunsil will now forever look back in hindsight at how the blunder costed him 7 draft spots, as the Ravens selected Ronnie Stanley to be the draft's top tackle before the Miami Dolphins recovered him at #13.

All things considered, the underachievement still spotted him as a first round pick, with the 13th pick being pretty generous for a guy playing his position.  Miami was thrilled enough that a player of Tunsil's caliber fell in their lap, providing them a key addition to what was a struggling offensive line in 2015.  Dolphins general manager, Chris Grier, seemed to scuff at the controversy, stating: “We’re very comfortable with all the information we have on the situation. We had heard rumors and we had done our [research].”

The Dolphins' new rookie, on the other hand, can be none-too-pleased.  Tunsil sees his projected signing bonus of $20.4 million [as the original prospective 6th pick] drop to $12.4 million [for landing at 13].  His prospective signing bonus of $13.1 shrinks to $7.2 million.  That is no small difference in a sport where your health does not promise you'll play on from one year to the next.
