Future is currently traveling the United States on his promotional tour for “Purple Reign”, and on Thursday (April 21st), during a stop in Syracuse, NY the rapper took time to joke about his public rifts with Ciara and Desiigner. While attempting to hype the upstate New York crowd, Future assessed the audience and labeled the side with the least amount of energy as “Ciara or Desiigner fans, or something.”
Future and Ciara are in a very public legal battle over custody of their son and derogatory statements the “Stick Talk” rapper made on social media about the singer. Two weeks ago, Ciara caused a stir after she refused to say Future’s name during the 2016 Billboard Music Award announcements. The incident, onset rumors of an apparent gag order between the two Atlanta born stars.
The mention of Desiigner’s name likely stems from many hip-hop fans accusing Kanye West’s protégé of copying Future’s style and cadence. Desiigner’s breakout single “Panda” is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, which has charted higher than any of Future’s releases to date.
Neither Ciara or Desiigner have commented on Future’s slight jab towards them during his show.
