The Golden State Warriors are on a historic championship run, with individual players and the team claiming multiple records throughout the regular season. On Saturday (April 15th), during the team's first post-season game, Steph Curry, rolled his ankle in the second quarter after missing a jump shot. Following the injury, Curry left the game to get the ankle taped, and he returned to the court after half-time, and left again to get the ankle re-taped. Without Curry, the Warriors went on to blow-out the Houston Rockets, finishing with a 104-78 victory.
Warriors Coach, Steve Kerr, spoke to the press after the game saying, "As far as Monday, I'd say Steph is questionable," referring to Game 2 of the team's first round playoff series against the Rockets. Kerr says that Curry would like to play on Monday, but he is more concerned about the superstar incurring any further injuries, “We’re not going to let him play if there is any chance of making it worse, obviously we’re hoping, we’re going to be in the playoffs for the next couple of months so we’re not taking any chances."
Warriors power forward Draymond Green expressed concerns about Curry possibly missing a game, but he has faith in the team’s abilities without the point-guard, “One man is not going to come out and be Steph Curry for us. We’ve got to come out and do it collectively. We have the blueprint.”
Curry is expected to win the league’s Most Valuable Player award, averaging 30.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.4 rebounds during the regular season.
