On Saturday (April 9) hip hop music exec extraordinaire Lyon Cohen had a near brush with death after suffering from a pulmonary embolism. The 300 Entertainment front man responsible for careers such as Young Thug and Fetty Wap and more shared via Snapchat that he had nearly died after one of the the blood vessels in his lungs became blocked.

The 56-year-old exec expressed with labored breathing through an oxygen mask, “If it wasn’t for my son, and my best friend Norm, I would have been a goner.” Cohen also went on to detail that although he works out everyday to keep in shape and maintain a balanced lifestyle, had he waited just four more hours to be seen he would have met the same fate as Heavy D back in 2011 when he passed from the same complications.

As of now Cohen is taking it easy, and is hopefully on the road to a speedy recovery.
