A British woman is in hiding after admitting she was having an incestuous relationship with her biological son. Kim West and her son Ben Ford reunited after being 30 years apart. West gave Ford up for adoption at age 19 while going to school in California. West moved back to the U.K, and received a letter from her son in 2003 looking to find his biological parents.
Two years after the first meeting in 2003 Ford left his wife, moved in with his mother in Michigan and began an intimidate relationship. The two don't call this incest, they refer to it as "Genetic Sexual Attraction", which is when relatives feel sexual attraction after meeting as adults.
“I know people will say we’re disgusting, that we should be able to control our feelings, but when you’re hit by a love so consuming you are willing to give up everything for it, you have to fight for it." said Kim West in a Mirror report.
The couple have went into hiding as US authorities have caught wind of their incestuous relationship. A spokesperson for the State of Michigan spoke to the Mirror stating “Under State law incest between two consenting adult is a third degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison."
The couple plans to leave Michigan to avoid being arrested. New Jersey and Rhode Island have no laws stopping consenting adults participating in incestuous relationships.
