The Miami chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, the national police union, have vowed to boycott Beyonce's Miami stop on her Formation tour in April, which was confirmed by Lt. Javier Ortiz on Thursday (Feb. 18). Ortiz called on all police in the area to boycott the concert, as he feels that Beyonce '"used this year's Super Bowl to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her anti-police message."

While it's unclear whether Ortiz's call to boycott was an order or request, Tampa's Fox 13 revealed that "dozens" of police have signed up to work security at the show. Additionally, Tampa Police addressed a story posted by The Grio, "This is factually incorrect. We do have ofc signed up to work the Beyonce concert & the event will be fully staffed."
