Mets pitcher, Jenrry Mejia, became the first person in MLB history to be permanently suspended after he tested positive for boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance that increases muscle mass. This is the third time the 26-year-old athlete failed the drug test. Friday, the Mets stated, "We were deeply disappointed to hear that Jenrry has again violated Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program," The franchise said. "We fully support MLB's policy toward eliminating performance enhancing substances from the sport. As per the Joint Drug Program, we will have no further comment on this suspension."

Mejia must apply to be reinstated in a year. If he's accepted, he'll be benched for two years.
