20-year-old Quinton Dashawn Laster was arrested for the shooting and decapitation of his grandmother and her husband at their Oklahoma City day care.

The bodies of Sharon Reed, 59, and James Reed, 78, were discovered after investigators came to do a welfare check at their home located on the intersection of Northwest 122nd Street and North May Avenue. Three children were found huddled inside the home's garage area, all unharmed. The Reed residence also served as an in-home daycare center, according to Sgt. Ashley Peters. "He has a history with us, but it's not extensive," Peters said of Laster.

Police later found and arrested Laster on two counts of first-degree murder. No information on the motive of the killing has been released.

“It’s just a shock,” said Sharon Reed’s sister, Brenda Jackson. “He didn’t deserve it, and she didn’t deserve it.”

Laster has resided with his grandparents for two years after being kicked out of his mother’s house, Jackson said.
