Aaren O'Connor, 25, was on the phone with her sister while sitting in her car outside of her Chicago apartment when she was hit in the head by a stray bullet. O'Connor didn't realize she had been hit, but her father revealed that when the line cut out with her sister, he called back and spoke with her.
"She was incoherent, didn't know where she was, and kept saying that her head hurts. Her head hurts," he added, "I wish I could have known what was going on, so I could have told her that I love her one more time."
After their conversation, the father called Aaren's boyfriend to check on her, and when the boyfriend couldn't get a response, the woman's roommate went outside of the apartment to check on her. It was then that the roommate found Aaren unresponsive in her car. She was rushed to the emergency room, but she later died of her injuries.
