The 2016 Oscar nominations were revealed yesterday, sparking outrage amongst fans of Hollywood stars and musicians who failed to received any recognition whatsoever. Bun B jumped on Twitter last night after the nominations were announced to voice his distaste and show appreciation towards acts like Idris Elba and Ice Cube for their work in Beats Of No Nation and Straight Outta Compton, respectively. "I don't even wanna start in on the fact that one of the best biopics in years was snubbed as well," Bun B tweeted out. "@icecube you and your team were robbed." Aside from The Weeknd he also shouted out Wiz Khalifa for his musical contribution to the Furious 7 soundtrack with "See You Again," the first hip-hop video to reach one billion views.
Ice Cube was asked about the Oscar snub after it was announced Straight Outta Compton's writers were nominated for Best Original Screenplay, and like others said he's "not surprised". Check out his full response here.
