On Thursday (Jan. 7th) a group of young men confronted an 18-year-old girl and her father at the Osborn Playground in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The father of the victim was held at gunpoint and was told to leave the park at which time the five suspects - ages 14 to 17 - viciously took turns raping the girl.

It is reported that the victim's father ran off to acquire help but by the time authorities showed up on the scene the suspects had fled. Two days after the attack, police released a surveillance video from a near by bodega, where the attackers can be seen entering the store just before the incident took place. Once this video surfaced, a 15-year-old and 14-year-old were brought in for the gang rape by their own mothers. Two of the other suspects - ages 15 and 17 - were apprehended by police, while one remains at large.

The victim was brought to Kings County Hospital where she was treated and released. On Sunday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said he was "disgusted and extremely saddened by the horrific attack."
