Gabriel Omogbo, 33, a preacher from Hyattsville, Maryland, has been charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, assault, theft and reckless endangerment. According to WJLA, Omogbo was finding escorts via Backpage.com and would attack them, including one woman who was cut on her arms, legs, and hands, and robbed of $300 and her iPad.
Omogbo was reportedly tracked down by police through a phone number that he used to communicate with the escorts via local pawn records. Police also confirmed the preacher's identity through surveillance footage at the hotels where he met up with the escorts.
Omogbo is expected in court again on January 8, 2016.
