Metta World Peace teamed up with director Brad Bores and producer Kevin Devore last year for When the Bell Rings, a documentary film based on the life of Chicago's David "Dino the Lethal Warrior" Wells. At 40 years old, the former championship boxer attempts to get back in the ring after a 15-year hiatus, while trying to reunite with his estranged son in the process. Metta - who alongside Geoffrey James Clark, Lisa Lapan, Stephen Michael & Eric Bromberg executive-produced the film - had this to say about the doc:

"I feel very personally connected to this film. My dad was a prizefighter and I've always loved boxing. I see some of myself in Dino -- a guy from a tough neighborhood with a lot of passion, who's made some mistakes but never gives up. I was lucky and got some breaks that Dino never got."

When the Bell Rings has premiered at a handful of festivals over in the past year, and has won two awards for Best Documentary Feature at New Orleans Film Festival 2014 and Hoosier Dance International Film Festival 2015, respectively. Metta World Peace also spoke to us about the documentary recently which was released to the public this week.
