Maino recently sat down with DJ Smallz and was asked about Slim Jesus, a White drill rapper from Hamilton, Ohio that almost had him fooled until his interview with DJ Vlad. "I think he messed up by saying that he['s] not a gangsta' and all that," Maino stated. "I was right there with it...He had me."
See Maino - like the artists he favors - has shown and proven he's truly "about that life," so Slim's facade is not appealing to him in the least. "See, the reason why it's not funny to me is because you know, they make all this hoopla about him and all he's doing is mimicking real life artists that's making the music out of their own pain...They're really living that," he explained. "They're really in situations where their friends [are] dying in front of them and they're shooting and running from the police - and you not even doing none of that?...We gotta stop celebrating s*** like that. Like, let's not give that so much of a platform."
