Lil Mama spoke openly about criticism she's faced over the years, and the famed rapper told us that she's felt "beat up on." However, the "Sausage" rapper made it clear that she won't let anyone else's opinion keep her from carrying out her purpose.

During the conversation Lil Mama also clarified a statement she made during a September 2015 interview with Complex, where she said that the amount of hate she got after crashing Jay Z & Alicia Key's 2009 VMA performance could make someone "damn near suicidal." The New York artist made it clear that she's never been suicidal herself, but she added how she could understand how situations like that can make a person feel isolated and hopeless.

When it comes to other people she feels like she can identify with, Lil Mama told us that she can relate to the public shaming that, her "brother," Chris Brown has gone through. While she pointed out that she doesn't agree with domestic abuse, Lil Mama told us that he deserves forgiveness and a chance to move on.
