Students at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina, started a protest to bring back Officer Ben Fields, who was fired after he was videotaped slamming a student to the ground. The teens have shared their t-shirts baring #BringBackFields on their social media pages in order to raise awareness of their cause.
Sheriff Leon Lott spoke about his reason to fire Fields last week, telling reporters, "It's not what I expect from my deputies, and it's not what I tolerate from my deputies. I wanted to throw up; it makes you sick to your stomach. You can't watch the video without having those feelings."
