20-year-old Erika Escalante is jobless and untraceable on social media after her offensive tweet got her fired from her paid internship within two hours of her sending it out. "I deleted it, but it was much too late," she told Fox 10 Phoenix.

Arizona-based health and wellness company, Isagenix, sent out their own tweet regarding their decision to let Escalante go after she posted several photos with a friend picking cotton. The caption, "Our inner n****r came out today," sent Twitter in a frenzy and resulted in Escalante deleting all of her social media accounts. Before she could do that, however, Isagenix caught wind of the racist tweet and released the following statement: "We were shocked when we saw, it's not what you would expect," said spokesman Kevin Snyder. "When I looked at it, I immediately knew we had to make a swift action. It was unanimous, it is a complete conflict of who we are, and what we stand for as a company, so within roughly two hours we ended our employment with her. "

Escalante - a Spanish linguistics major - admits her joke was in poor taste and apologizes to anyone who took it offensively. "I am sorry if you took this to heart," she said. "I am so sorry, I didn't mean it at all, it was a mistake, that's all I can say."
