Esther Adler-O'Keefe, assistant principal at Southampton High School in New York state, was removed from her position due to her appearance in J.R. and Trey Songz's "Best Friend" video.

Adler-O'Keefe played the role of the homeowner who goes on vacation and leaves her home in the care of J.R., who throws a wild party full of twerking girls, booze and smoking. The former assistant principal later claimed that she never would have done the video if she knew the full content.

Adler-O'Keefe told website 27 East, "Speaking as a private individual and not in my professional capacity, I wish to state for the record that, when I agreed to participate, I was completely unaware of the content, lyrics, and title of the video and song. Had I known of such content or lyrics, I certainly would not have participated in any fashion. I find the lyrics and content of the music video vulgar, offensive, and demeaning."

Superintendent Dr. Scott Farina shared his thoughts on Addler-O'Keefe's involvement in the video, "The video in question showcases behaviors and language use that is not promoted by the Southampton School District. In fact, we actively teach our students the importance of good character and making smart choices. Additionally, this is not representative of who we are as a district, nor of our students and staff."
