If you weren't aware, teenagers around the world (though mostly in Florida) are lighting themselves on fire - on purpose.
Yes, you read that right. And as a result of the "fire challenge," many of its participants are being admitted into hospitals for second and third-degree burns. That's exactly what happened to 15-year-old Robert Seals, who is now laying in Shriners Hospitals for Children on life support. "I see the little boy walk up and gush something on him and then flick. I see the little flick, and then my nephew's running down the street on fire. All his skin is off, arms peeled, hair burnt. His neck...swelled up so bad," Seals' aunt, Lisa Oliphant, detailed. She believes her nephew wouldn't involve himself in "stupid stuff like that" since he's involved in football and mixed martial arts, although he reportedly told the Orange County Sheriff's Office he doused himself.
Seals has suffered from burns to his neck and lower face. The Orlando Sentinel says the Florida sophomore is currently "heavily sedated in the Intensive Care Unit." According to Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jane Watrel, the two other children involved may face culpable-negligence charges.
