Bobby Shmurda lost his latest bid for bail ahead of his upcoming drug and weapons charges trial, where he will be represented by a new attorney, Alex Spiro of the high-powered law firm Brafman & Associates. The "Hot Boy" emcee has been incarcerated since his arrest in December 2014, where the judge set his bail at $2 million.

During Shmurda's hearing on Monday (October 5), the judge set the trial date for February 22, and Spiro asked for the rapper to be released ahead of the trial. However, Special Narcotics Prosecutor Nigel Farinha argued that the case had gotten stronger while Shmurda has been in jail, and he pointed out that the Brooklyn based rapper's bail had been previously denied four times.
