The past year has been rough for former NFL star Warren Sapp, however he may be able to breathe a little easier now that a verdict was reached in his domestic battery case.

Sapp's ex-girlfriend Chalyce Moore claimed they got into a physical altercation on April 28 that left her bruised, battered and both mentally and physically drained. According to earlier reports, Sapp threw a margarita at Chalyce, bit her and stomped on her head during their stay at the M Resort in Las Vegas. Sapp was charged with three counts of battery constituting domestic violence over the Summer and originally faced up to 18 months in prison if convicted, but today he can now put the case behind him.

The judge in the case fined Sapp $345 after he pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor domestic violence charge. The other two were dismissed, but the Hall of Famer will still have to pay $2,555 in restitution on top of having to keep his distance from Moore and serve 48 hours of community service. Sapp will also have to stay out of trouble and attend counseling for the next six months.

Neither Sapp or his attorney could be reached for comment at this time.
