Allegations of Drake using a ghostwriter was a hotly debated topic earlier this year, and Tyrese told Complex that "Whether he wrote his rhymes from the beginning of his career or not, you can't take away from the Drake effect." 

Tyrese also shared stories of being in the studio with "some of your favorite rappers" and witnesses ghostwriting sessions while the artist sat on a couch with groupies. He also pointed out that singers like himself never get told they're less of an artist because they don't write their songs.
