The twentieth anniversiary of the O.J. Simpson murder trial is just days away and new details are still emerging, including the embattled former athlete seeking safety at friend and attorney Robert Kardashian's home. According to Lawrence Schiller, author of American Tragedy: The Uncensored Story of the O.J. Simpson Defense, Simpson contemplated comitting suicide in Kim Kardashian's childhood bedroom.

Schiller made the revelation during a recent interview with 20/20, as he explained that he discovered a recording of Simpson that played out like a suicide note. Hours before the recording the former NFL player could be heard saying, "Oh boy, I don't know how I ended up here. Please remember me as 'The Juice.' Please remember me as a good guy. Don't remember me as one of the negatives that might end up here. Please, please, please, please leave my kids at peace. I love everybody."

Moments after O.J. recorded his message, Robert Kardashian walked in the room and talked Simpson out of his alleged plans. Before his death, Kardashian spoke with Schiller about his conversation with Simpson, which the author recounted during his recent interview.

"Then O.J. said, 'I'm going to kill myself in this room,' and I said, 'You can't.' I said, 'This is my daughter's bedroom,'" Kardashian told Schiller. "'My little girl Kim sleeps here. I can't have my little girl in this bedroom, and every time I come in here, I'm going to see your body lying in this. You can't do that.'"

After the 16-month highly publicized trial, O.J was aquitted of murder.
