Chris Brown's visa to enter Australia is currently in limbo due to his domestic violence past, and the R&B singer responded to the decision by saying that he would like others to learn from his mistakes.

The controversial entertainer plead his case on Twitter, "I would be more than grateful to come to Australia to raise awareness on domestic violence, I am not the pink elephant in the room anymore. My life mistakes should be a wake up call for everyone. Showing the world that mistakes don't define you. Trying to prevent spousal abuse. The youth don't listen to parents nor do they listen to PSA's. The power that we have as entertainers can change lives."

Australia's Immigration Minister Peter Dutton explained that Brown has 28 days to present a case proving why he should be able to enter the country.

"People to whom these notices are issued have 28 days to present material as to why they should be given a visa to enter Australia. Decisions on whether a visa will or will not be issued are made after that time frame and consideration of the material presented to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection."

While the decision to let Brown in the country has yet to be made, tickets to Chris' Australia and New Zealand shows went on sale Tuesday (September 29) afternoon with a message from his management. They dispelled rumors that his visa was denied and his management seemed confident that he would be let into the country.

"Contrary to media reports, Chris Brown's request to enter Australia on tour has not been denied. This request is currently being considered by the office of the Immigration Minister. We respect their right to review this request and have faith that a decision will be made with the full consideration of his continued personal growth, on-going philanthropic endeavors and desire to perform for his fans. Since 2009, Chris Brown has visited Australia on two separate occasions and is looking forward to returning in December."
