MMA fighter Benny Madrid caught himself in a serious bind after publically thanking his wife and girlfriend during his big win over the weekend.
The blunder happened after Madrid defeated Jeff Fletcher at the World Series of Fighting 23. After finishing off Fletcher with a rear choke submission within the first minute and 26 seconds into the fight, "El Hijo" was declared the winner and immediately went into an interview. While speaking about his big win, he thanked the women closest to him--his wife and girlfriend.
"Thank you everyone who believed in me ... my wife and girlfriend," Madrid said.
Madrid was unable to clear up his statement during the interview, but took to Sports Illustrated's Facebook page to clear up his comments. ""Lol it's my girlfriend/fiancé that's going to be my wife.. Was caught up in the moment," he said. The 36-year-old also tagged his fiancee Tracy Cortez in the posts.
The victory broke his three-fight losing streak which might be the reason behind his mistake. Check out the fighter's fumble in the video above.
