A heartbreaking video has just come out of Stockton, California. in the visual, a Black teen is violently handled by police - and it's all because he jaywalked.

16-year-old Emilio Mayfield says he was on his way to school and jaywalked so that he could catch the waiting bus. "He was 2 feet away from the sidewalk when the cop stopped him," wrote witness Edgar Avendano. "The cop was telling him to take a sit but the teen kept walking to his bus but the cop kept grabbing his arm & the kid took off the cop's hand off his arm so the cop took out his baton & that's when I started recording because everything happened too quick."

Avendano also noted the cop's body cam on the floor as he hit Mayfield in the jaw with his baton because he was "resisting arrest." The teen then begins to cry as eight more officers pull up and four of them wrestle him to the ground. He's a f***ing kid!" can be heard by an unidentified woman throughout the entire video as Mayfield is arrested. He was later released to his mother and given two citations for trespassing and resisting arrest.

"For safety reasons, the officer told the young man to get on the sidewalk," Stockton Police Officer Joseph Silva told VICE News. "After the teenager refused to comply and used obscene language, the officer went over and there was a scuffle."

Mayfield spoke to CBS Sacramento after the fact and told them he is "traumatized" by the entire incident. "I was beaten and slammed on the floor," he continued during the interview.
