Wednesday, September 2 marked the deadliest day in Chicago, Illinois since 2003.

Nine people - including an 11-year-old boy - were killed two days ago at various hours while 12 other victims were seriously injured. The youngest, Antwone J. Price, was killed after accidentally being shot by a family member in the abdomen. Eight others were fatally wounded that day, all men ranging between the ages of 19 and 60. The 12 non-fatal shootings don't appear to be life-threatening.

This takes the city of Chicago back to 2003, when ten deaths occured on July 5. Recently in the city, nine people were killed and 46 others were injured after being shot over the Fourth of July weekend.
