A Phoenix teen got a first hand lesson on the power of social media after being arrested for posting a Snapchat of a hallway at Sierra Linda High School  with the caption, "planning the school shooting."

The post was handled seriously by the school after a student in Colorado named Kaylee received the Snapchat and reported the incident at her school. The girl explained, "I didn't want to assume it was a joke because if I would have woken up today and seen that he really did shoot up a school, I know how bad I would have felt if I know I could possibly have stopped it."

The 16-year-old Snapchat sender was later arrested and charged with  one count of creating a hoax, which is a class 4 felony. He admitted to sending the message, but insisted it was a joke.
