Macklemore has been accused of alleged "White Appropriation" in Hip-Hop since coming on the scene, but legendary emcee Big Daddy Kane praised the Seattle-born rapper for including legends in his new track, "Downtown."

The "Ain't No Half Steppin'" emcee took to Instagram with his thoughts on Macklemore, and he slammed people for slamming the rapper for putting Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee or Grandmaster Caz on his new song.

"REAL TALK!!! I don't see one artist in the game that put Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee or Grandmaster Caz on their new song or let them perform on the VMA's (Including Me) but people wanna have a problem with @macklemore for paying homage to them? We don't acknowledge our own & get mad when another color does. Now if one of them passes, then we wanna post s*** about them, say RIP & get t-shirts with their picture. FOH!!!!!!! Learn about your history & preserve it now. If not, SHUT THE F*** UP!!! To me this is about real pioneers getting recognition in today's society."

VladTV regular guest Lord Jamar was one of the first emcees to publicly speak out against Macklemore, and the East Coast emcee told VladTV exclusively that he felt like the "Same Love" rapper was pushing a gay agenda with his songs. In the same interview Lord Jamar also shared his beliefs about white rappers being guests in the house of hip-hop.
