"Idris Elba is a terrific actor, but I can think of other black actors who would do it better," said 007 author, Anthony Horowitz.

The writer responsible for the newest Bond read "Trigger Mortis" had that to say when asked what he thought about Idris playing the legendary role. "For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It's not a colour issue," he tells the DailyMail. "I think he is probably a bit too 'street' for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah." He then went on to say Adrian Lester of "Hustle" would be a better pick in his eyes.

Idris Elba was looked at as a top contender for the role, with many eager to see a "Black Bond." Unfortunately, "The Wire" star denounced the news earlier this year, calling it a rumor "that's gotten out of control."

What do you think of Horowitz's comments?
