The MTV Video Music Awards were filled with subtle shade, big performances and Miley's eclectic enthusiasm this year, with Taylor Swift and Kanye West the big winners of the night.

After Nicki Minaj took over the stage and ended her feud with Taylor, the evening was filled with performances from The Weeknd, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Pharrell and the host of the evening Miley Cyrus. Some eyebrow raising moments also happened during the show with A$AP Rocky questioning Miley's VMA intro, Nicki possible jab to Miley on stage and of course, Kanye's plans to run for president in 2020.

Taylor Swift took home the award for "Best Pop Video" and "Best Female Video" and Kanye West for his Video Vanguard Award honor. During his lengthy speech, the rapper announced his plans for president.

Despite the attention the antics of the show received, other winners of the night were Bruno Mars for "Best Male Video" and Big Sean for "Best Video With a Message."
