Let's just say in today's world, showing off a new pickup is the last thing you wan't to do. Unfortunately, West Palm Beach was the host of what was more than your average sneaker theft. According to police, a young teen was in the process of showing off his brand new $170 Air Jordans when things took a turn for the worst.

Displaying his new pickup to a trio of friends, he then handed them the shoes while they sat in their car in order for them to get a closer look. After asking for his shoes back, the teens declined and hit the gas, according to the arrest report. Moving quickly, the teen jumped into the car before it was out of reach. Proceeding to ask to be let out of the car, the trio threatened to shoot him if he didn't give up the shoes and his phone.

According to the police, the group then tied a pillowcase over his head while driving and finally arrived at an apartment complex on Forest Hill Boulevard. According to the report, the trio beat him repeatedly then threw him into a canal before driving off.

Michael Kelly and Christopher Hernandez, both 18, have been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and aggravated battery while the the third party has not been charged, according to records. Hernandez was released from the Palm County Jail while Kelly remains in custody on a $30,000 bail.
