A 16-year-old girl is clinging to life after being gang raped and having her eyes gouged out in an exorcism ritual in the town of General Pinedo, in the north Argentine province of Chaco.
According to reports, the girl's family claimed that the teen kept claiming to see animals like goats when they weren't there, and they felt she was possessed by a demon. A local pastor reportedly told the girl's family that the demons didn't like pain, and he ordered that the girl be gang raped.
The pastor also allegedly told the girl's sister to gouge her sibling's eyes out, and he supplied the knife for the horrifying incident. The teen's sister has since been arrested, and the men involved in the gang rape are expected to be arrested as well.
Police Commissioner Pablo Almiron spoke out after the incident, "It is the first time in 22 years of my career in the police to have an event of this nature. The prosecutor has also said that it is the first time in his life. It is very difficult to explain that something like this could happen to a teenager."
