The basketball sneaker world just got very interesting, to say the least. Recently reported by ESPN, Houston Rockets' star James Harden has been offered $200 million from adidas over a span of 13 years. With Nike's deal with 'The Beard' recently expiring, the swoosh team has until the end of next week to match adidas' deal or possibly lose Harden.

If this deal becomes a reality, James Harden is set to make more with adidas than with the Rockets, who signed him to a $80 million extension with Houston back in 2012 which spans through the 2017-2018 season.

As Nike/Jordan Brand continues to dominate by making up 90% of basketball shoes sold in the US, it kind of stirs up some questions as to why James Harden would leave to represent adidas.

Yao Ming still has ties with the Rockets Organization which would spark Harden's global appeal, but other signature superstars such as Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard and John Wall aren't very persuasive when it comes to brand success in comparison to LeBron james, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and Kyrie Irving.

Nike may want to take this very seriously since losing out on Steph Curry to Under Armour was a move they wish they can do over. Nonetheless, James Harden is set to make big bucks no matter the decision.
