Yesterday we reported on President Barack Obama's decision to commute the sentences of 46 drug offenders across the country. We've recently learned that one of the woman who got her sentence lessened by POTUS is actually the mother of Denver Broncos wide receiver, Demaryius Thomas. Katrina Smith was set to remain in jail for three more years until she received a letter that will more than likely change her life forever.

"God is good," wrote Demaryius via Facebook. "Great news today, My Best lady come home November 10.." Katrina and her mother, Minnie Thomas, were arrested for narcotics traffiking in 1999. Demaryius was just 11 years old when his mother and grandmother were sent away, and despite their long-term sentences, the two women still keep in contact with Thomas and watch his games from a Tallahassee, Florida federal prison.

Katrina was scheduled to be released in 2017, while Demaryius' grandmother, Minnie, received a life sentence. Catch the Facebook post dedicated to his mother and a copy of the letter Obama sent to the inmates in the gallery.
