Donald Trump has continued to lose lucrative business deals following his inflammatory opinions on Mexicans and immigration reform.

According to CNN Money, the presidential contender was in the makings of producing a TV show for Carlos Slim, the richest man in Mexico and one of the wealthiest men in the world. Slim is the co- founder of Ora TV as well as many successful businesses. In a statement this week, a spokesman for Slim confirmed the news of a television show with Trump and notes the deal was cancelled.

"We can confirm that we were working on a television project with Trump that has been dropped." the statement reads.

His son-in-law, Arturo Elias Ayub says that he and his father refuse to work with a "small minded" person.

"[His statements] are totally out of line," he said. "Working with someone so close-minded was not going to work."

Slim's businesses have collected millions, placing his net worth at $68 billion, while Trump claims he's worth $9 billion. Trump announced his candidacy for the 2016 presidential election last month. Recent polls have the businessman leading among GOP candidates like Jeb Bush and Sen. Ted Cruz.

Trump has tried to clear up his statements on calling Mexicans rapists. "I love the Mexican people, but Mexico is not our friend," he tweeted. "They're killing us at the border and they're killing us on jobs and trade."
