Fabolous spoke on who he believes is the original King of New York and his thoughts on fans giving him the title today.

Speaking with MTV News, the rapper says his favorite rapper, the late Biggie Smalls, owns the title.

"[Biggie] embodied it, too," he added. "He represented New York fully. When you saw him out, he always screamed 'Brooklyn.'" He also says he's heard fans give him the title, leaving him humbled.

"I'm not aiming for any kind of recognition," he said. "I'm just doing what I do. But it's great that you can get a title of such that isn't, in this day, self-proclaimed. It's something that the people actually [say]. That's always dope."

He also spoke about his Hot 97 Summer Jam performance and the many NY rappers he shared the stage with like The Lox, Method Man, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, Black Rob, Busta Rhymes, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Lil Kim and Ma$e.

"A couple of guys told me, 'You're the guy that could've put this together,'" he said. "I didn't even look at it from that standpoint ever. That was just something I was trying to do for the city, for the show, for hip-hop. But they were like, 'You're one of the few guys who actually could have made this happen.' So, I got that recognition as well. I was like, 'Wow. That's dope."
