Update: One of three suspects, 19-year-old Shivahn James Stewart has been arrested for his involvment in the robbery over the Air Jordan 7 'Hares'.

With every big sneaker release comes a hassle these days. There are pros and cons whether one tries to cop a pair of kicks online or by physically going a store location. By purchasing online one gets the benefit of avoiding long lines, or dealing with harsh weather conditions depending on the season or region one is located in. However, online purchasing usually leads to a strong presence of bots that sabotage your cart before the actual release occurs, and/or many websites malfunctioning due to an overload of visitors. Going to a store allows for a buyer to get their shoe on the same day but one still risks waking up early, long lines, and the possibility of police shutting down the release opportunity. With all the difficulty that comes with sneaker purchases there are also stipulations around the resell and trading market.

One sneakerhead in Greensboro, North Carolina, recently experienced the worst of them all.  According to a Fox8 news report in N.C., a guy was shot just this past weekend after meeting up with 3 strangers to sell a pair of 'Hare' Air Jordan 7's on the 200 block of Hazelwood Drive. Though the victim didn't sustain any life threatening injuries, his phone, money and sneakers were taken. Susan Danielsen of the Greensboro Police Department commented exclusively to Sneakerwatch on the incident saying, the arrangement to sell the sneakers was made by the victim's brother but wasn't purposely set up. She informed us that the weapon used was an air soft rifle and that the victim did not sustain any severe wounds. He was released from the hospital shortly after the incident.

Just a word of advice sneakerheads, you might want to pick your meet-up locations wisely when planning to sell, buy, or trade kicks. Stick to SW as we get more updates on this story.
