Chester Hanks - rap name Chet Haze - has been in the news quite a few times this week for his use of a certain racial slur. The aspiring hip-hop artist has been slammed by the media for using the "n-word" when referring to his haters and colleagues -- even fellow rapper Vic Mensa chimed in, resulting in a battle of words between the two. Though he still fully stands by his decision to use the term, one of the people he uses it around has decided to end their six-year friendship because of it.

According to TMZ, rapper Scrilla King - a former friend of Chet - has stopped speaking to him because of his constant "desire to use the n-word." "He wakes up thinking he can be black today and know what we go through. He doesn't. I wake up black every day, he does not," Scrilla goes on to say, adding that "It's disrespectful. He thinks it's a joke." Scrilla felt extremely uncomfortable when Chet Haze would use the word around him, and now feels that Haze owes the "Black community a public apology."

Do you think Chet will step up and apologize for using the term? Or will his Black friends who support his choice continue to make him feel that what he's saying is okay? Sound off on the situation below.
