The Lyon family will be back with the music, the family love, and of course the drama this fall.
Empire's Taraji P. Henson made the big announcement on Friday after a fan asked about the show's return on Twitter. Season 2 of the hit show will premiere on Wednesday, September 23. The cast has stayed busy since the finale this past spring with performances and wowing the Emmy voting academy with panel discussions and other events.
With the first season featuring big stars like Jennifer Hudson and Courtney Love, acts like Lenny Kravitz, Chris Rock and Alicia Keys are slated to appear next season.
