Dr. Boyce Watkins shared his thoughts on Jay Z's new music streaming service Tidal, and the famed social commentator said that despite the bad press, the music service still needs time to grow. He added that no business gets big overnight, and he pointed out the hundreds of thousands of Tidal subscribers.
During the "Financial Juneteenth" segment, Dr. Watkins said that "Tidal is a little bit late to the game," and he compared listeners leaving another streaming service for Tidal to a person leaving their partner for another mate. He also questioned why there has never been an all-Beyonce streaming service, which Watkins believes would do extremely well, considering her fanbase.
