On Tuesday, it was revealed by Deadline that Azealia Banks has landed her first starring role in a feature film as the title character in the RZA-directed Brooklyn-based drama 'Coco.'

Recently, the outspoken Harlem MC announced that her sophomore album will be released in 2016, and now it looks as though she'll be busy focusing her time on polishing her inner thespian. Within the Lionsgate and Codeblack Films feature, Banks will portray an aspiring twenty-something rapper who faces a tough decision as she contemplates pleasing her parents and finishing college or pursuing a career in Hip-Hop.

Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint, and Common are set to join Azealia Banks on screen.
