Those who follow Colin Kaepernick on Instagram are familiar with his #7tormsComing hashtag, which he recently used in a joke on Instagram that instantly backfired.

The 49ers quarterback shared a photo of the extreme flooding in Houston with the caption, "I warned you the #7stormsComing !!! Houston," which many found to be disrespectful. At least five people have died as a result of the torrential flooding and Colin's followers pointed out the insensitivity in his comments section.

The famed athlete later deleted the message after getting a wave of backlash and followed up with an apology on Twitter, "I'm so sorry about my insensitive post earlier today. I didn't fully understand how many people are struggling in Houston right now and I feel horrible. My prayers are with everyone there."
