Christopher Duran, 14, was killed point blank outside of his apartment building on Sherridan Avenue in the Bronx, and investigators believe the incident is a  gang revenge killing. According to the police, Christopher's 18-year-old brother is a reputed member of the Bronx-based "280" gang, and sources believe the killing is related to something the brother did.

The slain teen was no stranger to the police, as he had already racked up several charges, including robbery, possession of a knife, and assault and battery. In response to the charges and gang affiliation, the boy's uncle said Christopher was not involved in a gang.

"It breaks my heart. In the end ... I want to know why ... He's a good kid, nice-looking guy. He never [did] anything. He never [hung] out with gangs, nothing like that."

Police have released a surveillance still of the alleged gunman along with a description, which they say is a hispanic male wearing a lightly colored hooded sweatshirt with dark sleeves, jeans, and a red bandana over his face.
