As of Thursday, Ray Rice is no longer a domestic violence offender after the charges were dismissed and expunged from his record, reports TMZ.

Last year, the gossip site obtained footage of the once celebrated football player attacking his then-fiancee while the couple were in an elevator. Since that dreadful encounter, the former Ravens star successfully completed a supervised pretrial 12 month intervention program and paid an assessed fine of $125, and now the court has sent an order of dismissal to Judge Michael Donio who signed it earlier this morning.

A deal between Rice and state prosecutors lowered the initial charge of felony aggravated assault to simple assault, a misdemeanor. Although the video of the confrontation between his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, and Ray Rice caused a firestorm of controversy, this deal has worked to effectively clean Rice's record.

At the end of last year, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Ray Rice into the league, but the running back has yet to be picked up by another NFL team.

Do you agree with the court's decision to clear Ray's record?
