Def Jam's first signed female rapper, Nikki D sat down with Forbes DVD and shared her story of getting signed through her connections to Ice T, whom she met in Los Angeles as a teenager. She also speaks on becoming Def Jam executive once she decided being an artist on the label no longer worked for her.

While at Def Jam, she recalls almost fighting Foxy Brown on more than one occasion, saying the Brooklyn spitter has always had a major attitude problem and could get very disrespectful. She also spoke of DMX's impact on the label, saying he brought a new energy into the building and that she enjoyed his era at Def Jam the most.

She then moved on to Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit, with the two of them hoping on a track together for the "Set It Off" soundtrack. On the track, Nikki admits to talking about Foxy, and says so was Latifah, and that Foxy was actually afraid of the "U.N.I.T.Y." rapper.
