A letter penned from War Machine has revealed his true thoughts on the violent encounter with his former girlfriend Christy Mack.

According to TMZ, the MMA fighter says if he was in Texas, he could have gotten away with murder and plagued it as a "passion crime."

Jonathan Koppenhaver wrote the letter to a friend expressing his grief over the charges, and says Mack is making up key pieces of the fight to protect her image.

"The way she is lying is crazy bro," he wrote. "I mean just two days earlier she's telling me to hurry up and get her a ring and s***. How do you go from that to flat out lies to protect some other dude and your image?'"

He also says that he went to her home to surprise her and was ambushed by her friend Corey Thomas. After he was allegedly attacked by Thomas, the fighter says he had no choice to defend himself.

"Even if I wasn't ambushed they still would have got what they deserved," he wrote. "In Texas you could have shot them both and got off with that 'passion crime' s***"

The fighter is facing 32 counts including attempted murder, battery, kidnapping, and sexual assault. The case is set to go to trial on October 17. Despite being held in Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, the fighter has posted a series of poems on Twitter.
