Teyana Taylor opens up to DJ Duffey about how she got signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label after explaining that they first met and bonded over their love of fashion. The Harlem-born singer says Kanye called her up to come to the studio and look at the tour wardrobe designed by Balmain.

She then explains that she already had plans of going to the studio and showing Kanye that she was a talented singer. The famed rapper was working on his "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" at the time, and when "Dark Fantasy" came on, she started singing along with the track.

Teyana's voice caught Kanye's attention, and he immediately put her in the booth to sing. Afterward, Kanye quizzed the singer about her label situation, and after being with Pharrell's Star Trak label for five years, she decided to move on with Kanye.

The "Google Me" singer says that she's happy with her decision and says she feels "at home" with her G.O.O.D. Music family, including Pusha-T, who was also signed to Star Trak. In closing, Teyana adds that she's glad she didn't drop an album until now, because she didn't have time to grow as a woman.
