Amid all of the backlash that Ray Rice has been receiving from fellow NFL players and general celebrities, Floyd Mayweather is one person who has sympathized with him.  Floyd knows all too well what it's like to be in the spotlight for domestic violence, as he has repeatedly had run-ins with the law over accusations of beating women. 2002 is when it all began, as he pleaded guilty to two counts of domestic violence, then later in 2004 he was convicted of misdemeanor battery for fighting two women in a Las Vegas club, and most recently served two months in jail in 2012 over domestic battery charges.

When asked for his opinions about Ray Rice, Floyd was empathetic, and believes that the NFL should've stuck with their word and only given him the two-game suspension.

"They had said that they had suspended him for two games," Mayweather stated to The Ring.  "Whether they saw the tape or not, I truly believe a person should stick to their word.  If you tell me you're going to do something, do what you say you're going to do.  But once again, I'm not in the NFL, so I can't really speak about the situation."

Floyd then raised a few eyebrows after admitting to having seen the tape of Ray Rice brutally KO'ing his wife Janay, but not agreeing that he found the video disturbing in anyway.  Instead, Floyd deflected the reporter's statement of it being "kind of disturbing," by replying:

"I think there is a lot worst things that go on in other people's households also.  It's just not caught on video."

He then spoke on his own history of domestic violence accusations and how there has never been any visual proof to back up the claims that he has ever beat a woman before.

"With O.J. and Nicole (Simpson), you seen pictures," Floyd said.  "With Chris Brown and Rihanna, you seen pictures. With (Chad) Ochocinco and Evelyn, you seen pictures. You guys have yet to see any pictures of a battered woman, a woman who says she was kicked and beaten (by Mayweather). So I just live my life and try to stay positive, and try to become a better person each and every day."

Floyd also wished Ray and his wife Janay the best through this dark time, and also stated that he too is trying to become "a better person, each and every day."

How do you feel about Floyd's thoughts on the Ray Rice situation?
