Angie Martinez has left Hot 97 to join the Power 105.1 team.
Earlier today (6/18) Martinez announced via Instagram that today will be the last time that she does her radio show at Hot 97. Angie wrote the following statement on Instagram and Twitter.
"Today I resigned from HOT97. I am grateful to the Emmis family for my time with the company and the immeasurable way that it has shaped my life. We made history together in so many ways and I will cherish those memories and my friendships forever."
When Retweets by Charlamagne, Prostyle and Power 105.1 hit the net, the twitter world began to question whether or not Angie is leaving Hot 97 to join Power 105.1.
In her post, Martinez went on to talk about how difficult it was for her to leave the station that she has worked at since she was only 18-years-old:
"This is one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make but ultimately it's time to move on, to grow and be challenged in new ways. Saying goodbye is always emotional and bitter sweet but I am extremely excited about the future. Thank you HOT97 and most importantly...the listeners...for an unimaginable journey. Today will be my last show. Stay tuned...Love, Angie."
The statement was posted along with a picture of a pair of sunglasses and read: "Life has to move forward. Everything has its time and everything has its end."
